In late 2020, GVM implemented what has become the biggest xAPI dataset in the world. The project is for a large Australian university catering to over 30,000 students. In a world first, they have created an xAPI-driven integrated learning ecosystem.
From 2021 all students will be able to study both formally and informally as a centralised system draws information together from multiple sources. Taking it a step further, the University will feed the combined data to artificially intelligent systems that will design individualised learning supports based upon a big picture view of student needs. Supported by an import of a vast trove of data collected over the space of five years, the AI can look for patterns in student work that allow it to provide continuous recommendations to improve each student’s outcomes.
Until this project, no one had ever attempted to import well over half a billion xAPI records into one LRS. Now they have.
